I don’t know if you’re planning on celebrating this “Christmas” thing on December 25th, but if you are, you’re also gonna wanna see ‘Vice’ immediately. The trailer for the movie portraying Dick Cheney’s rise to power – written and directed by Adam McKay, and starring a nearly unrecognizable Christian Bale as Dick Cheney – just dropped, and it looks amazing.
You may have thought Christian Bale had topped himself after his physical transformations for roles in ‘American Psycho’, ‘Batman Begins’, ‘The Fighter’, and ‘American Hustle’, but this one sets a new, and very creepy bar for him.
And he’s not alone. The movie ALSO stars Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Alison Pill, Jesse Plemons, and Tyler Perry! I know, it’s a lot. And they’re all playing real people in a story told over the course of many years. Years that, for the American people, felt like decades (and for people in some other countries, probably felt like centuries…)
But at least we can all ease a bit of the historical pain with this awesome movie! Here’s the trailer:
They couldn’t even fit the whole incredible cast in the trailer, but luckily those of them you saw were a little more recognizable than Christian Bale parading around as one of the most evil masterminds in this history of American Politics:
Check out Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush:
Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld:
And Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney:
This trailer teases production value and performances that will certainly have people talking about Oscars. It’ll tell the story of how Dick Cheney slowly became one of the most powerful men in the world. FWIW, we think it happened pretty quickly:
Honestly, this movie might make Cheney look like a total rockstar? Like an evil, terrifying rockstar? What’s the word for “powerful man responsible for massive atrocities all over the world”? Is it rockstar? It can’t be rockstar.
